From Puerto Galera, I went to Tamaraw Falls, San Teodoro and rode a jeepney at Calapan City towards the town of Victoria. It’s the farthest that a jeepney route could go south.

When I travel, I usually take the jeepney and go as far as the trip could go and make a stop-over at every town the jeep would pass by. Just like San Teodoro, the town of Victoria is another quiet town. It has more commercial establishments though like a 7-11 and a Mercury Drug outlet.
I visited the Good Shepherd Parish, the municipal hall and the post office. It’s one of the towns serviced by the (Western) Strong Republic Nautical Highway. In the province of Mindoro, it stretches from Calapan City to the port town of Roxas. From Roxas Port, there are ferries going to the Island of Panay (where Aklan and Boracay belong).
While I was in Victoria, I learned an alternate route going to Caticlan Port. There’s a new port in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. That is where the FastCat is located – the ferry system or RORO (Roll-On/Roll-Off). From Victoria, I visited first the famous city of Pinamalayan before ending my Day 2 of my Mindoro Trip in the town of Bulalacao.
Here’s a short profile by the way of Victoria, Oriental Mindoro at the PhilAtlas website:
